I will be getting a OCZ vertex 30gb SSD for my Asus U6E. Since my laptop only support 2.5" SATA device, if I install this SATA II SDD onto it, will I be getting a lot of performance degrade because of the I / O bottleneck ?

    Please kindly advise.

U6E uses ICH8M I/O chipset. Meaning it's SATA-II 3Gbps capable, more than enough interface speed to see full OCZ Vertex streaming transfer rates. So no speed capping unless the ASUS BIOS is locking you down to 1.5Gbps mode. CAP.ISS can tell you if that is the case.

Thanks for your prompt reply and I will think it over and decide whether I should get one over this weekend.
