You should find out their specs and pick the best one:

    - Higher contrast rate
    - Lower response time
    - Higher brightness
    - LED instead of CCFL lighting

are the ones you should prefer...

yes, yeah the owner doesn't provide enough info and I'm lazy so I don't want to dig all of it up. :p

So a link or if anyone has been on one of these in particular, and can provide a recommendation/non-recommendation.

just to forewarn you about brown granite on ebay they will ship you whichever panel they want it may not be the one you pick. they ship compatible panels so even if you order the lg you may get the samsung etc..

i would only even consider the chi mei or the lg out of those

While the "flat ribbon" cable may be compatible, the CCFL and LED backlit connector is not.
CCFL backlit LCD screens are interchangeable in most situations, if not all. However LED backlit LCD screens may/will require the appropriate inverter and cables for the specific model in question.

So if I want to change my CCFL backlit LCD with a LED one, I have to change the board and the inverter too? But will the connectors of a Mac Book Pro display (15,4", LED, Matte, WXGA+ (1440x900)) fit on my Acer?

You should save yourself from some trouble by going with a higher resolution CCFL backlit LCD.

The Acer and Macbook connectors are not likely to be interchangeable.
