    You could do this
    CPU : tk57 ---> TL-60 ( or a tl-68 but it gets expensive after tl-64's )
    Ram : 2gb's --> 4gb's
    Hard drive : 5400rpm --> 7200rpm or SSD

    Thought it already had 3G RAM?

    Best value performance increase would be to download the norton removal tool... /wry

    Besides that, CPU as suggested.

    i had norton turned off but then my comp was acting funny so i ran it, i don't know if its eating away at my system or what but if i remove it won't i get virus attacks, i mean i'm not dumb and going to websites downloading stuff, just usually on eq2 which runs slow, why i'm wanting to upgrade. also i went to tigerdirect but couldn't find the mentioned processors on there they had some others, if you guys/girls could take a look on that site, i would but i'm typing ingame(eq2) right now XD

    ZoneAlarm, the free version, is better in my experience. Performance wise, a faster hard drive, will offer better bang for the buck. Unlike upgrading the CPU, won't void your warranty.

    To fully remove norton you need the symantec norton removal tool, which you can download from their website (just google it).

    I'd recommend getting AVG 8.0 Free Edition. It's antivirus only (not antispyware or firewall), but windows defender and windows firewall have those bases covered pretty well anyway.
