Ran AIDA64 with the CPU and GPU going simultaneously, and the spread was 4-5 degrees. In just the CPU test, the difference was 1-3

Run Aida64 as the guide and post your results with screenshoots. Run it with and without CPU and GPU going simultaneously.

@iunlock i am new to this forum your contribution to this forum is amazing and helpful. I wish I could avail your service don’t have to go through the hassle which I am going through now. But it’s impossible as I live in Pakistan shipment, taxes charges would be this much I can buy a new laptop.

I need your help please guide me.

    As i just bought alienware 15 r3 (7700hq with 1070 gtx).

And its 1 and 3 core difference form 2,4 is more than 25 and these 2 cores continuously touch to 90+ after 2,3 mints even in ideal state and drop to 50 round about . When i do gaming it sometimes shutdown too so i stop playing and started to find guide how to fix this issue one important thing is to mention here there is no dell service center in our country i need to do fix this issue myself.

It’s very hard here to get anything which u mentioned on your repaste guide from my country
I read almost your every guide things i grabbed is
I need to do repasting, repadding ,pch mod and tension the screw to reduce differential core issue.

I can order all things (thermal grizzly conductonaut, 33+ tape etc) from aliexpress as other sites don't offer shipment to our country problem is i can get only get arctic pad.

I tried to find pressure paper on aliexpress I am unable to find if u can give link where I can get that pressure paper that would be helpful too.

Please can u mention what pad size should i be needed?

Or should i follow your this guide line

Greetings to all, I am new to this forum and although there are many pages, I have tried to read and get acquainted.
    i7 6820HK
I have my ASUS ROG G752VS and I have problems the same problems with the speed of my CPU that is blocked at 800mhz, has a thermal choke at low temperatures and this generates low FPS.
    Reinstall windows 10 from scratch
    Update BIOS to V310
    Update video drivers and others
    Replace the fans
    Replace the thermal paste
I have read other forums about it but I have not been able to find the solution.
THROTTLESTOP: When you turn off BD PROCHOT the clocks go up to 3400mhz but the fps only go up to 30fps, the performance is still low and the game shows a bit more stable but it does not work as it should ... I change the voltages to -100mV but nothing of results
MSI AFTERBURNER: I change cpu frequencies and I do voltage curves but it's not the solution either.
I'm going to use liquid metal and try to see if it works.

I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME FIND A FINAL SOLUTION, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE ARRIVED AT ANY CONCLUSION OR RESULT IN THIS FORUM.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO ALL.

I would recommend against using the phrase "final solution" (especially in all caps) - people may get the wrong idea..

dell 7577 same problem here. after disassemply i found what around 1/3 of cpu was without thermal coating at all. after change of coating temps go down from 100 celsius to 84. looks like major dell manufacture failure to me. https://imgur.com/a/Ei0oV

    I only own a 7577 fyi.

But in general, don't use a longer screw (that risks penetrating the PCB or damaging surface components). I would use the stock screw (length) as long as you can make it work (ie. starting the threads without cross threading or requiring excessive pressure to make it catch and start).

Someone with your specific model could probably tell you more accurately though.

Got any pics of what you are looking at?

@Maleko48 Unfortunately no as I have returned my 15 r3 for a refund because I will be getting the 17 r5 from HIDevoultion with a thermal grizzly, By the way, I am asking for the 17 r5, but does this model still have the CPU temp differential issue?

Tnhe r5 heatsink is a bit different so stuff like thermal pad thickness will be different.

This, I believe, is the same issue with the slim and light Clevos such as the P955ER.

Tripod heatsink design, poor CPU heatsink contact, etc. I see a lot of "pushed out" thermal paste on re-assembly.

Getting an older heatsink (the one on the eurocom q5) for re-testing as these are separate for both CPU+GPU.
    Will report back with findings.

Yes your laptop clearly the uneven heatsink issue. A large temperature difference between individual cores.

Separate CPU + GPU heatsinks was what I had always argued/requested as the separated heatsink plates will not promote tension to each other so in theory the plates should couple/seat more correctly.
I had a spare second hand heatsink and was going to crimp it then disect it into two but unfortunately the fins (GPU fan side) crumpled in my hands due to the hefty weight (best to handle both sides at the same time).

Regarding the "pushed out" thermal paste, it may be best to ignore all the touting of best paste/liquid metal. These best pastes have light consistency/too thin so it's easily "pushed out". After trying all these @best pastes whenever new products come on to the market, I've gone back to using Arctic Silver 5 due to its high density and viscosity. Not sure if it's a newer formular as the Arctic Cooling site states it's Not Electrically Conductive but was careful of the amount just in case .
    http://www.arcticsilver.com/as5.htm

After two Weeks the temperature seems quite even and it stays below 80 degrees, the reason I'm no longer raging at Dell.

If anyone has re-padded an Alienware 17" R5 can they let me know the pad thicknesses?

    useful thread, Thanks
I had the same issue as well, found out it was broken cpu standoff :faceplam: i guess over the period moving it around some how flexed the board and broke off the standoff. I have Asus GL502vm 6700HQ+1060 6G. horrible thermals imo. had to set cpu max frequency to 2.6Ghz and vcore voltage offset -160mv + mx4 to get it to play games. u can picture below for before and after i re-soldered the standoff.

I'm really appreciated your hard effort for finding the root of the issue, I'm facing the same issue with dell precision 7710 , but the images in this thread are not available , if you have another source for the pictures so i can see the uneven heatsink before and after and stress test results also.

    thanks alot
