Hello
I recently got my self a hp pavlion g6-1331ea for school.![]()
It's a really good build and good screen and exactly what i need.
But was a good buy or not for £349.
Its poweful enough for school and even some maxed out cod4![]()
I was woundering if it was a good buy or did i get ripped am new to laptop buying (although i build my own desktops).
So here are the specs:
OS: Windows 7 home prem SP1 64bit
CPU: AMD A8 3520m quad core @ 1.6ghz turbo to 2.6ghz.
GPU: dual gpus:thumbsup: amd radeon 6620g and a 7450m with latest drivers
RAM: 6gb ddr3 (not know mhz but i am upgrading to 8gb ram.)
HDD: 750gb hdd @5400rpm.
The specs are good as far as my budget went my budget was £400
I bought it from pc world refurbished i found it Never used the ddfragler up time for the hard river was 18hours. No visible marks
It also got really good cooling i played crysis 2 on low and it only reached 56c 61c. idle is 35-40c.
So do you think it was a good buy for £349.00.
Thanks

Not bad.
I would say you got a pretty good deal.
Other than that... you could look into undervolting your cpu and overclocking it if you want.
I think these AMD chips have a pretty good UV/OC ratio.
At any rate, I think it would be possible to reach 2.0GhZ per core on base voltage alone if not even get away with some undervolting at those overclocks at the same time.
So you could technically lower power consumption (heat included) and increase performance at the same time. -
bargain mate!

You should be able to OC the CPU to somewhere between 2.2-2.4 ghz, and along with some fast DDR3, you should be able to play modern games with low settings. I'm not sure, can the 6620g and 7450m be used in hybrid crossfire?
Was this a good deal for £349?
