Hi, I recently tried to use the webcam of my P-6831FX that came integrated in my laptop. Unfortunately I cant get it to work. It is a USB 2.0 Camera that came with camera assistant software to run it. I got the computer a little over a year ago so my warranty is over and Gateway won't help me. I remember when I first got it, the camera didn't work, it would show the image for about 3 sec than go black. I wasn't really concerned because I had little or no plans using it. My hard drive failed and after restoring the OS and all my other software recently I decided to try my webcam again. Now all I get is a black screen. My computer and other software, including Skype, all recognize that I have a camera and say it is working properly. The microphone on the webcam works just fine. When I try and take a picture it counts down and makes the picture click noise but I don't get any picture. I am pretty sure I have the latest drivers, Device Manager thinks I do and I downloaded the ones off of Gateways but if someone has a link to them I would appreciate it to double check.
-I have windows vista 32bit and Nvidia 8800m gts
