I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software question. A litle of both I imagine.

Anyway, next weekend I'm attending a hiker get-together and have been trying to figure out if some of it can be webcast. Since this is a one time thing without any monetary gain, I'm looking for the cheapest out possible. Searching the web, I found GoToWebinar which has a free 30 day trial. I downloaded the program and found I can share my desktop on invitation, by email, to those that can't attend in person. What I need to know is if it can be done, and how to attach a webcam or ditigal camcorder to my laptop to show the procedings on my desktop?

My laptop specs are in my sig, and from what I can tell, is all I need to is a steady 56k, cable or dsl connection. I know the venue, which is fairly spread out, has wireless, whether I can connect from the hall I'd like to cast from remains to be seen, as is the rate of dial-up, if I have to go that route.

So... can I hook up a webcam or camcorder and have the picture show on my desktop and/or are there better alternatives?

    Suggestions...

Edit:I guess I should add, most presentations will be show with a digital AV projector through a laptop, but not necessarily mine. Ideally I'd like to be able show the overall view and the audience live, therefore the webcam/camcorder.
