i recently went on a 10 hour road trip..during the entire trip the laptop was in its box packed like the way it came. I put it in the trunk of my car..But ever since my Hard Disk temperatures have risen by 10 degree Celsius while doing nothing..b4 they used to be 32-33 but now they are usually 44-45 even when doing nothing but surfing the net!!!

what could the problem be? and what are safe HD temperatures?

    Check the system load first.

    Do a full HDtune test

    Check the SMART health monitor.

    Anything below 55c is safe

44-45 is safe. But I think something might have happened to the fans.Or HDD dislocation. If you know to open it up,take a look to see if something is loose.

umm another thing this is when my room temperature is 30 degrees celsius

and flipfire what do u mean by system load? if u mean CPU usage Task manager shows it as in between 10-15 and resource manager shows HD activity as 0 percent..will ti the HDtune test

also my GPU temp remains 45-48 when idle and abt 60 when gaming, where as the temp of Core#0 is 32 normally at idle but core#1 is 45-46 at idle!! that cant be good can it?

Personally that sounds normal to me. 30C which is equal to 86F seems pretty warm to me for a room temperature. I think your laptop is fine. Your temperatures are well in the safety zone of operation. Your laptop is just running hotter because of the warmer ambient room temperature. I am only able to get my CPU to operate in the 30C range when it is winter here and my room is colder.

Your welcome umar. Yeah I am pretty sure it is just the summer time heat. In the winter it will cool down again.

I would also appreciate it if you would edit your posts instead of double posting. It just cleans up the forums a little bit and makes fewer pages so everything is easier to read. Just click the "edit" button in the bottom right corner of your post and you can add any comments that you forgot to add.

    Thank you :)
