hello, i've now encountered my first problem with my laptop purchased in august.
today, i was cleaning my laptop with napkins and eyeglass cleaner spray, as i do weekly, and i think i went overboard. i use a toothbrush and napkins to clean the keyboard. the computer was turned on as i normally leave it and the keys are now screwed up a bit... one key now activates the keys around it. some do and some dont, but for example, the "j" key also activates the "u" key. the screen is fine, the mouse pad and left/right button are fine.

now i have no idea what to do... i suppose the only thing to do is to send it back to HP... my specs are in my signature. if anybody has any any suggestions for this issue, please assist me.

right now the laptop is running. im very sure everything is dry i used a hair dryer for a few mins twice to dry the keyboard, and put it infront of a tower fan for about 40 mins. and the cleaning liquid is partly alcohol.
    Thanks

Wow, you surely loves your machine a lot. I would say use the machine as usual for a few more days. If the problem persists, time to contact HP.

Tried that before. The toothbrush thing. Did the same thing your keyboard's doing. Ultimately I replaced the keyboard. If you used water in any way, you're probably screwed. The best solution is just to keep letting it dry and hope for the best. If it's still not working, say, after a week, you should probably look into a replacement.

If you feel comfortable you may want to pull up the suspect keys and reseat them. They are more than likely stuck or out of alignment. Each key should have a metal rod that fits into a slot somewhere on the keyboard. Just take your time and be careful when you remove the keys in question.
