in case anyone cares, i just can't say enough positive things about this HD. none of the crap back-up software of the 'My Book' series and flawless quality and performance. once i had it formatted which took a little decyphering now that i have Windows 7, it is everything the consumer reviews said it was and more. no power switch is a minus for some people but i could care less tbh.
as many of us laptop users need externals for media etc., it would be nice to see some feedback from others on this model and pro's and con's on others as well.
    kindest regards,
    -Llotse

No power switch isn't a big deal since it powers itself off after a while being idle. I got mine about a month ago. The drive is extremely quiet versus other desktop drives. I am extremely happy with it.
