    Agreed I have this drive ony my laptop and its slow as molassis hopefully getting my seagate 7200 RPM 16 mb cache on today

    You'll notice more improvement if you get the Hitachi 7K500.

    The Seagate 7200.4 is about as fast as the 5400rpm WD5000bevt. (as shown in the review by Techreport)

    Agreed... 7K500 should be a great upgrade.... i saw benchmarks for the WD drive and its quite slow... about as slow as my drive...

    These are great drives, finally got one myself and as a storage drive it is just a fast as the WD3200BEKT it replaced. Not advisable as an OS drive though as the 4k speeds were halved

    Its better then my Hitachi 7200rpm drive that came in my envy according to the webs.. I can't wait for it to get here...then I gotta spend the next few hrs taking apart my envy, joy.

    No it is not normal, the Scorpio Blue is my Latitude D620 is very quiet. I don't think I even hear it during heavy load...
