    It is a 3 platter HDD so performance may be similar to 500GB on 2 platters. Or it may be faster depending on if WD have used the same density as on the 1GB version of this HDD.

    As already noted, this is not a standard 9.5mm thick HDD but a 12.5mm (1/2") thick model which will not fit in most notebooks.
