Does anyone know what the difference is between the Western Digital Elements vs. a Passport? It looks like it's slightly longer otherwise same dimensions. Only reason I ask is because you can get a 640GB Elements for $100US. A 500GB Passport costs $120.

I believe the warranty is also different.

The USB connector should be different too. The new passports come with a micro-USB connector on the HD side. The elements still come with the mini-USB.

I thought the elements drives were desktop drives... the passport one is the 2.5 inch mobile drive?

Hmmm, they seem to have changed the design. My portable elements have a rubber sock at each end as a sort of shock protection. I prefer the Elements from the Passports because of this.
