I don't know what to choose between Hitachi 5k500.b and WD blue.
I'm interested in low power consumption, decent temperature and speed.
Are there other good models out there?

    Thank you

From what I've read, the Hitachi has lower consumption than the WD.

Member John Ratsey has both the 5K500.B and the WD5000BEVT.
Under his testing the Hitachi ended up being more power efficient.

Both drives are strong performers, so in the performance category they will rank right in the same spot. The Hitachi will only yield longer battery life

Yes, and Tom's Hardware charts show the same. There's not much difference on the maximum and minimum power consumption but the 5K500.B is much better on the streaming video test.

The performance difference is very small.
