    I have got a new dell 1520 with

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7100 Processor (1.8GHz,800MHz,2MB L2 cache)
    15.4" Wide Screen WXGA (1280 x 800) Display
    1024MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x512]
    120GB (5400rpm) SATA Hard Drive
    nVidia® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT with 256MB DDR2 dedicated graphic memory

    i have just tried playing battlefield 2 on it and it takes ages to load up a game and then lags what can i do to make it play better?

    1. Delete bloatware or reformat, just remember to save drivers (SWSetup) and make restore discs.

    2. Upgrade to 2 GB of RAM, you can find it cheap at newegg.com or here.

    Otherwise, the 8600m GT can easily handle Battlefield 2 at very respectable settings.

    BF2 always takes a reeeeeally long time to load up. Don't worry about loading times; it's normal. But lag shouldn't be happening. Good luck with formatting.

    Romanian, from what you said in another thread I suspect more RAM is needed. 1GB just not enough?
