I recently bought a Sager np8170 and I want to install a SSD on it when it arrives. I would like one with at least 120gb+ of space, but I can't decide between ocz vertex 3 and crucial m4. I'm worried about firmware problems that the vertex 3 has been having and which would be the best price/performance ratio.
Any ideas?
Any other ssd's suggested?

I bought an Intel 510, but that was because I couldn't get an M4. The M4 seems like an extremely good ssd. There are many threads about different ssd's, but the M4 seems like a great one.

DON'T get an OCZ. Especially the Vertex 3. There are countless issues with the new Sandforce drives that OCZ ignores and refuses to deal with. They are brocks waiting to happen.
Crucial M4 performs nearly the same as the Vertex 3 in real life, is way cheaper, and is far more reliable. Intel 510 is solid too, but the M4 beats it in nearly everything and is cheaper as well. Intel and Crucial reliability are the best in the market, they are very close to each other, which makes sense as they use a lot of common hardware. In fact, the M4 and 510 have the same brand NAND and the same controller!
Go Intel or Crucial. -
Vertex 3 and Crucial M4 perform nearly identical.
Crucial M4 is way more reliable, especially since firmware 2. -
I went with Crucial after looking at a fair amount of reviews on newegg. Thanks for your input!

good choice. My crucial c300 has been very good to me so far.
What SSD should I be looking for?
