I've decided to buy a 1920x1200 screen for my MSI gx640 just to take advantage of that.
I know there are dual backlit ones, but what one should I buy? I'm looking for the highest color gamut specifically.
I guess I will start collecting model numbers and datasheets, if no one knows off the top of their head.

I think you have to use the same CCFL number you already have. Then again maybe there are cables that alow your system to support differently. Iknow with mine it is a 1 CCFL and the 2 CCFL display will not work.

I'm yet to mod a dual CCFL inverter to have the same pin-out as mine. In the mean time, dual CCFL display runs just fine on single lamp only, and oh boy the difference
On topic:
Either one of the three (72%, 2CCFL):
LP154WU2-TLA2
LP154WU2-TLB1
LP154WU2-TLB2
The inverter I'm about to mod is: MPV5K003
This is next to impossible to run (proprietary connector, no data-sheet), but it's 100+%, DELL M4400 RGB LED:
LTN154CT04-D01
I somewhat reverse engineered the pin-out, bought a cable + M4400's schematics + multi-meter, but I'm not very certain about it. -

No datasheet eh?
Well we can also look at the ones from the m1530 maybe.
I wasn't trying to get into this again but it would be awesome if I could get an LED screen going. -
Yep, and that's not just LED, it's RGB LED
And since there is no IPS 15,4", that's the next best thing. I'm only going 1920x1200, if I can run this particular display, otherwise I'm more comfortable with 1440x900 2CCFL 90% (work in progress). WUXGA although nice, is not for my eyes.

Since I have the same laptop as Triturbo, is there any chance i could upgrade to higher quality screen without upping my resolution or at least with out upping it a lot? Orrrrr would it be just as good running lower resolutions in the more demanding games? How much do these screens cost?

We are going off-topic, but - I'm now running 1280x800 90% 2CCFL from a Vaio with good viewing angles. You'll need to put some more wires and arrange them correctly, in order to run 2ch LVDS display (anything higher than 1280x800).

Anyway I don't think there's much hope for that LED screen. I'll probably be buying one of the models you listed soon, thanks! -
Just make sure to ask for this particular screen, as the Samsung alternative is not on par, from what I read. It seems that I'll be in the same boat as you, getting 1440x900 though.
What WUXGA 15.4" CCFL screen should I buy?
