    Hi,
Over the kast 2 days for some reason when typing, the text continues typing higher up on the page, randomly,

i have seen it jump to 1-3 lines higher when typing and watching the text, my palms/hands don't even graze the touchpad,

so im not sure whats causing this as before it didnt do this?
    any suggestions?

    thanks

It is likely still the touchpad. Try to turn sensitivity to the touchpad all the way down, or just disable it (most laptops have a quick way to do this) and see if the issue goes away. I can guarantee it's the touchpad. Some are so sensitive that just typing on the keyboard will make it do erratic things.

Some of the Asus ultrabooks have a grounding issue that causes the cursor to act erratic too on a given surface. Disable the trackpad altogether as HTWingNute suggested and see if it continues (unless you tried it already).

That's probably because he's not saying it right. He's most likely inadvertently toughing some overly sensitive key or the aforementioned track pad that's sending his cursor on a wild romp.

turn off the touchpad altogether to see if that's the issue.
if the issue goes away, then you know.
if it is the touchpad, try the freeware "Touchfreeze"

After rubbing my last two brain cells together, I remember I had a laptop (I think Asus) that I had to put a piece of electrical tape underneath the touchpad because it was touching metal and it fixed the issue.

There are a few models laptops where its possible for them to flex enough while being typed on, that the touchpad would register finger movement.

No idea if your laptop is one of those.

I remember this one guy who wanted to know why his laptop would shot down every time he moved it. Turns out he was lifting it with one hand and putting so much pressure on a sensitive spot that it made contact and signaled a shut down.

Maybe this applies, maybe we're way off base? Only OP can tell us if any of this is the right track in his case.

This was one of the most irritating things I had on my G74 Asus laptop, touchpads on Alienware are however a bit less sensitive for these touches i guess!

    Thanks for the replies,
i disabled the touchpad which sorted the problem so its obviously the very faint grazesd of my palm that move the cursor,

problem is, i cant keep on disabling/enabling the touchpad.

ive installed touchfreeze so will see if this helps

if anyone has any aternative fixes please share
