Hi, before I get a new laptop, I'd like to know what you can use the ExpressCard slots for, as most notebooks seem to have them. Can someone educate me on what can be done with these and if its important to have this on a notebook?
Thanks.

You can use external sound cards, docking stations, memory, extra USB ports, a network or wireless card, and stuff like that. It's not really necessary for most users.

Most people won't use this but as Mastershroom said, there are many uses for it. I would consider it a plus to have but not a dealbreaker if a notebook didn't have one (or only a 34mm one, standard is 54mm).

You could hook up a vidock

This was posted a while back - covers pretty much any use for the slot.
