I'm sure there's a master post out there somewhere but i couldn't find one. I'm definately considering undervolting my CPU and GPU.
What program is best to use and can someone run down the setttings, what they mean, general parameters for set up, etc.
Also, what are the dangers of undervolting, especially when OCing my GPU...
Thanks

Here is an article by an expert NBR user.
http://www.thegamebooks.com/undervolting-intel-pentium-m---how-to-keep-your-gaming-cool-t78.html
I personally haven't undervolted but I think that article should help.
Good luck,
Tim -
it doesn't seem worth it anymore, but thanks for the article. I might consider later but right now i don't see the benefits as being worth it.
-
That big time worth it to me. -
i got about 45 more mins of battery time
-
I don't think i'd get too much increase since my cpu's usually chillin out at ~100*F (40*C or so). Thanks for the help anyway though. If i really need the extra battery life then i'll consider.

RogueMonk,
did you also try to undervolt your core duo? I am interested to know what are the results
and what is your comparison with your PM system.
I would advice undervolting to every laptop owner. -
Hi guys!
Thanks for reading my article. I wonder - KidA - If you undervolt your cool notebook - do you get lower temps? If not perhaps your x300 holds the temp level at (very cool) 40 degrees. If you are interested in underclocking ati, check my sig. I think you will find some interesting things there (for example Powerplay is very bad in comparison to extreme underclocking)
Cheers, -
yeah i have powerplay disabled, but still set on high performance due to whatever Omega driver issues there are. I have trouble uber underclocking the x300 though... when i bring it back up to default it locks up and i have to restart, and i only see a 15 minute or so increase in battery life.
As to getting lower temps i was also wondering that but i figure that if its running this cool as it is i really don't have much to worry about. Even when overclocking my gpu only gets up to 115*F or so. -
Great temp.
Cheers,
Ivan -
anyone else with a similar dell have the same experience with low temps or is this just me?
-
great info there
any link that you know that can show peoples experiencing undervolt, how much they undervolted and their results? how much more battery life that is...
edit:nevermind...i think thats too much work and not many people doing them... -
Check my sig up there.
Cheers,
Ivan
What do I need to know about undervolting?
