hahah you need a sound card... pcmcia card probably... or if these speakers come with only 1 sound wire to plug into your computer it might work since you have integrated sound support probably. definitely worth the 25 bucks if you bought the advanced sound upgrade!!

ok, looking at the pin configurations it really looks like all the other 5 speakers connect into the .1 (subwoofer) and that sub has an amp in it which allows it to receive the signal from the external audio port on your "headphone slot" and since you have integrated 5.1 or advanced hd audio 5.1 those speakers should work. those are good budget 5.1's if you want real quality surround sound from 5.1's get the logitech z5500's http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836121120
or for mixed budget performance, the "in the middle system" which is definitely worth the extra 210 watts for the extra 50 bucks is the logitech z5300e http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836121121

Deos E1505 have a PCMCIA card slot? The E1705 does not have one. Instead, it has expresscard slot. But then there are USB2.0 to PCMCIA converters available.

If you need an external sound card, here's one link:

    Im pretty sure it does.

If you go to advanced properties you can adjust your sound card output for a 5.1 system, or even a 7.1.... control panel>sound and auio devices> speaker settings> advanced>speaker setup> then choose the output type.

All computers have that option, but that doesn't mean your hardware supports it. 5.1 speakers normally need 3 ports: 1 Sub/Surround, 1 Center, 1 Front Surround.
