just wondering...cause in the future i might do it, or ill just get an external hard drive
but i just wanna know what you guys think of it

What about it? It's very doable... nothing out of the ordinary.

You need to backup all your stuff and reinstall the OS.
Otherwise, yeah, it takes 5 minutes. -
I guess it will depend on why you want the bigger drive. If it's to just miscellaneous stuff like mp3's, vids, and backup that don't need to go wherever the laptop goes, then an external would be good. If you just need a larger drive for the times you need to take the computer and don't want to fuss/tote/the bulk associated with another device, then do the swap. Just back up all the info on the old drive

We'll need some more information from you to help you make the right choice.
Most laptops use 2.5" hard drives whereas a few use 1.8", I'll assume you have a 2.5" hard drive. Desktop's use 3.5" hard drives which by far can hold a lot more storage than laptop hard drives which are most commonly used as external hard drives on notebooks.
If you really need a lot of space and don't mind having an external drive, then get an external drive by all means. If you want to get a new laptop hard drive, you can also take out the old one and use that as an external hard drive as well.
Replacing a hard drive in a notebook is one of the easiest upgrades you can do aside from upgrading the ram. If you need help, let us know, I do want to say that upgrading the hard drive will be slightly different in some notebooks.
Good luck.
What do you guys think of intalling a new internal hard drive into a notebook?
