Hi there,
my experience is that laptops with Alps touchpads have a noticable lag in response. I made 2 simple videos:
Alps touchpad on Lenovo ThinkPad X300 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipxBlBb542M
Synaptics touchpad on FSC Amilo Pro V3205 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdmaawZPBbI
Slow response on Alps touchpad is very significant in this case. I have tested about 50 laptops since last year and maybe 10 have Alps - each with Alps have this problem.
What is your experience with Alps touchpads? There are only few discussions about this problem on the internet. I want to know if it a global problem or I had luck to bad ones.

Mine works fine... no lag.
I dont have any drivers installed for the trackpad, im using whatever Vista installed. Try uninstlaling the ALPS driver
What do you think about Als touchpad slow response?
