After some looking around and asking lots of annoying questions, I have decided that this is the HDD that I'm going to go with:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148073

My only question is what is perpendicular recording would it have any performance effect on my gaming/modding activities?

I am waiting for an identical HDD but without perpendicular recording. Read some of the user review on newegg, doesn't look too good to me to be honest.

But perpendicular recording means that the data is closer packed together thus a faster hdd in general, but it looks like the failure rate is pretty high O_O.

Wikki article is a good read. "Idiots Guide" if the bit "magnetized particle" is a Domino, Can you fit more in 1 linear foot laying flat end to end or standing up next to each other? Standing up. Johnny T are sure it doesn't? not all company's make a big deal about it who makes it?
