    I just bought a seagate external hdd. It has a whole bunch of files already on it. What does that software do and is it worth keeping?

    IMO most software to do scheduled backup and automated backups are crap. Norton does them in a proprietary format, so you can be hosed down the road. Personally I'd format the drive and use it standalone.

    Agreed... I have that same drive, Pro edition. I don't recall seeing anything on the drive though. I would have formatted it regardless.
