    What ever happened to the Hybrid DVD/Blu-ray drives with SSD?

    I thought there were supposed to be laptop optical drives with a 32GB or 64GB SSD designed into them. I heard about them probably over a year ago, but haven't seen anything come to fruition.

    Thanks. Yeah I found a couple articles on it. However, that link you sent is for paid subscribers only.

    Hmmm, it would be a nice option IMHO. Something for all of us 15" and smaller notebook users to have an SSD + large storage HDD + ODD. I really don't want to go with 17" due to size and cost. I'm looking at a Sandy Bridge 15" Sager notebook but only a single hard drive bay, and prefer a blu-ray drive as well. Oh well, guess we can't have the best of all worlds.
