Out of the 320GB 7200 RPM, can we get a concise list of pros/cons in here and compare them?
Seagate 7200.3
Fujitsu
Western Digital Scorpio Black WD3200BEKT
HITACHI Travelstar 7K320
Pros/con examples: Fast, quiet, etc.

I've owned all 3 of them and found that the WD Black was the best, quiet, runs cool, no vibration. Good speed boost too.
The Fujitsu ran kind of hot and was quite loud. The Hitachi wasnt that bad, quiet, cool, but vibrated to much. This is just my opinion and experience with these drives, others may have had no problems at all. -
I think WD is the best.
It manages to outperform the Seagate 7200.4 in most of the I/O benchmarks.

I own a WD1600BEKT. It's fast and quiet. it adds a slight vibration to my NC10. Doesn't bother me though. -
I have the WD 3200BEKT and I can say that it is very quiet and quick. My only con is that I runs quite hot on my Gateway P7805u. It can get up to the high 60 C while gaming and averages in the lower to mid 50 C. Because the hard drive is located under the right palmrest, it makes it very uncomfortable to type sometimes.
Hope that helps. -
Makes sure to shop around if you go for the WD BEKT<--- model, as many people complain about the "noise" it makes.
Reason is, the BJKT model has the freefall sensor, and less people seem to complain about noise at all on this model.
I've searched around and I find the prices about £3 or so difference for the 320GB model comparing with-without the freefall sensor.

I think this is probably coincedence. I've seen people with completely quiet BEKTs and Ive seen people complain about the ticking of their BJKT. -
I can only comment on the seagate 320gb 7200. It had a decent amount of vibration and noise and occasional clicking although I didnt have reliability problems with it. Newer firmware was released which decreased the noise a bit but it was still there. I now have a seagate 500gb 7200.4 and its an entirely different beast. I cannot hear it AT ALL, no vibrations at all. its wonderful, fast, quite and has no vibration at all. Its a completely different beast.

I would go with the wd.
