What exactly is bluetooth (I have an idea about networking devices without wires - but that would require ALL devices (printers ect) to have 'bluetooth', right?), and how does it work on a notebook? If I have a cellular bluetooth phone, will this interact with the notebook, and in what ways?

If you have a cellphone with Bluetooth, then you can transfer files from your laptop to cell, or from cell to laptop without USB cables.

Bluetooth is basically a new way to connect things without wires. More and more things have Bluetooth now.

Bluetooth is a very short-range, low-bandwidth wireless standard designed for inter-device communication over a 5 to 10 foot range. It's mostly used to transmit small amounts of data without a wire being involved. It lacks the bandwidth to support high-speed internet over 1mBps- you can use certain cell phones to access the EVDO/EDGE cellular internet service and have them act as a modem, but that is already a real strain on the technology.

Assuming you have a bluetooth capable computer and cell phone, is there any special software you need to transfer info between the two? Thanks.
