Do any of you know much about the Intel Turbo Memory (ITM)? I understand that it's part of Intel's new Santa-Rosa chipset, and that it's supposed to decrease bootup and application startup. Does anyone know much beyond that?
For example, why is that you can't have WWAN and ITM in the new Lenovo T61? Also, is it OS specific (ie, Vista only?) or completely hardware based so you can see the effects in XP, Linux, etc?
Any other info? Couldn't find much on Google.

Here's a link to: Intel Santa Rosa Preview: Centrino V Evolves
It talks about turbo memory here
I believe it's Vista only, it's designed to work wit ReadyBoost, ReadyDrive, and SuperFetch. -
You can't have both the WWAN and the Turbo Cache because both use a MiniPCI-E slot in the laptop and the T61 only got one free.

Does that mean that you can take out the WWAN and install a Turbo Memory chip yourself then?

Should be possible since the new bios should support it even if it doesnt come build in. Not sure if you can buy the Turbo Memory seperate.
