Hi guys, this is my story:
I (accidentaly) plugged mouse into damaged USB port. Touchpad stopped working immediately but everything else worked and I shut down OS.
After turning on laptop again, the screen was black with no beepcodes. I assumed that motherboard is broken, so I bought a new one and I let it replaced in laptop servis. But replacing did not help and the black screen with no beepcodes persists.
Laptop is Compal JHL90 (3 years old).
What would you advice me to do? Should I replace graphic card? Or something else? Or should I forget about repairing this laptop?
Thank you for any advice.

I would guess you burned out more than the motherboard...
Although the system is 3 years old to you, I would guess it is closer to 5 years old (technologically speaking...).
I would return the replacement motherboard you bought; ask for your money back from the 'laptop service' you used to swap boards and finally: I vote to buy a new system.
Good luck. -
What do you use the computer for? Might be easier to sell on EBay as part only and buy something newer.

Thanks for the replies.
What else you think could be burned? I would prefer to repair it, because that notebook was sufficient for me in frame of performance. Motherboard costed 70€ and I would buy a new graphic card for 100€ if it helped. I use it for programming, 3d graphics and web&office. -

170€ plus the cost of the MB swap is suddenly much closer to a brand new (to you) system.
Just because you're willing to spend the money, it doesn't mean it is worth it.
What other options do you have at your corner of the world? -
In the photo you linked, it looks like the contacts in the broken USB port could be causing a short. I would insulate or remove the contacts and try the old motherboard again. It could well be dead, but this is not going to cost you anything.
The JHL90/FL90 graphics card has one of those defective nvidia GPU chips on it, which could be the reason for the black screen. There is a huge thread in the Compal forum on replacing it: http://forum.notebookreview.com/com...our-broken-8600m-gt-graphics-card-i-fl90.html
The best course of action is probably to sell it for parts and get something new, as others have suggested.
What is/could be damaged?
