    what the hell is it for :confused:

    Long story short I replaced my Studio 1557 mobo with a Studio 1558 and it has it as the 1557 did not.

    If I'm not mistaken, it controls the TurboBoost (thermal management side) of the supported cpu's.

    No, it allows the remote control of the pc if everything is correctly configured, AFAIK. I believe even BIOS updates are possible via this interface.
