I'm looking to purchase a new 17 inch desktop replacement laptop and I want the best 1080p screen possible.

I know there are a couple of 4k options out there but most of the things I'll be doing will be in 1080p, so unless the downscaling from a 4k panel would be clearly superior than the native 1080p panels then I'd probably go with a 1080p screen.

    Any suggestions?

Only IPS pannel so far in notebooks is the LG 17.3" IPS 1080P pannel... I have one... The version is either SPD1 or SFD1...

Monitor Name (Manuf): LG Display LP173WF4-SPD1

Yeah I came across that one but the reviews have it as middle of the pack in terms of quality. I was hoping for something better.

You'll have to wait a while... Mine is ok, has slight yellow tint but I calibrated it and it's gone... This display seems to have a warm calibration by default..
