can someone tell me please if I were to put my two 512GB SSD in RAID 0, what is the best stripe size?
all I do usually is surf the net or watch movies and I play some games very rarely

The default (usually 64KB).
(Still not recommending RAID0 unless specifically (workflow) required though).Ferris23 likes this. -

Thank you, I won't be doing RAID 0 on my SSDs just wanted to know about the stripe size. the 4K speeds are 10% lower than those of a single SSDs, I don't care about sequential read/write since those only happen in a certain workflow
I just wanted to know if it's best to go with Intel's recommendation of 16K or the more popular 64K or Dell's recommendation of 128K
Thanks -

If you're not doing RAID0 then you won't have an option for stripe size.

64KB seems to be the best as mentioned in the Alienware forums.
Though if you're only surfing and watching movies, not sure why you'd bother RAIDing them.Ferris23 likes this. -
wait, isn't the whole point of RAID0 is to increase sequential performance? you are losing a little bit of random 4k performance (due to RAID overhead) for double the bandwidth, which almost always only gets utilized for sequential loads in a client environment (unless you are running a huge data server with massive outstanding service queues).Ferris23 likes this.
What is the best stripe size for RAID 0 on two Samsung 840 PROs?
