    Hello guys,

is somebody able to tell what is the brand name and especially ratio of this huge lcd monitor on the picture. Is it 16:9 or 16:10? I am really not able to tell.

    Thank you :)

    You mean a 27" IPS LED-Backlit LCD with a resolution of 2650x1600?

Fanboy or not it's irrelevant. The 27" Thunderbolt display is amazing.

Im a bigger fan of the u2711 10 bit panel from dell for the same price better color (1.1B 106% calibrated ) and less glare :D

    Ahh... I stand corrected.

But, for Mac users, Thunderbolt+Audio+charging all in one is great. Take away the conveniences and it would probably be cheaper. lol.

nope if you want the SAME panel minus the glareomatic its in an HP screen too. I see that one on special for under $450 occasionally.

see sig..... no ACD's here ;), and STILL waiting for TB peripherals :(

Interesting. I'll have to take your word on that. I don't have any IPS display's, and the only ones I've used have been Thunderbolt displays. So I guess my view may be a bit skewed.

If you say the HP is about the same with regards to panel quality, then I might seriously have to give that some consideration. I won't pay $899+ for a display simply because it's just not feasible since I won't ever need 10-bit color and I hardly ever use my MBP anymore, but a nice professional IPS display for ~$450 sounds pretty nice!

I'm running 2x ASUS VH242H. Nice displays, but they're not IPS.

A couple times in 2011 these 10 bit bad boys were $500 with coupon

HP ZR2740w 27-inch LED Backlit IPS Monitor - HP ZR2740w 27-inch LED Backlit IPS Monitor

Amazon has it on for $684
Amazon.com: HP Promo ZR2740w 27-inch LED Backlit IPS Monitor: Computers & Accessories

the 24" version has always been under $500, has been as low as $375 if I remember correctly

HP ZR24w 24 inch SIPS LCD Monitor - Monitors & Signage Deals & Offers

the older 27" 8 bit display seems to be discontinued so I will find you the model number @ work and you may be able to find them cheap

as for panel type, as far as everyone in creativecow photography and video editing forums can figure ALL 27" IPS displays are one of 2 LG panels ( 8bit or 10 bit )

Oh dear, I should have known those were gonna be fighting words to someone. Anywho, I don't hate the products, I just can't afford to sell the farm just to buy a monitor.
That sounds rather definitive for someone that knows so much about the product?

No, not fighting words... I just can't stand it when somebody uses the word "fanboy" in any sense. It just bothers me. Sorta like a pet peeve.

    Anyways...
