    Sorry guys for this stupid question but l lost my laptop manual and l can't figure out what the name of the port on the left is and what is it for?

    expansion port / ethernet port / DVI-out

    Well it looks like an expansion port, but im not sure. What notebook is it anyway?

    Yeah JT is right. I just had a look at my QuickDock plug and it matches.

    Its an 'Expansion Port 3'
