Hey everyone, as many of your are aware, System Requirements Lab is a site that will tell you how well, and if you computer can run a specific game. Recently, they added a feature that would tell you your "rated" CPU speed, sort of a way to compare apples to apples. I thought it would be interesting if everyone went to the website, ran the test for any game, and then just wrote down what their CPU is, and what its "rated" performance was. So please visit the website below, and obtain your "rated" performance. Please include desktop and laptop CPUs of an kind. The picture below shows where you will find the "rated" performance on the results screen. This should be fun. Thanks for contribution in advance! :)

UPDATE: This thread has a compilation of all the data obtained here in a nice, easy to read format! :)

EDIT: For everyone who overclocks, please include a rated performance for both you stock clocks and overclocks. This includes me!

I conclude that the testing puts a big weighting on the extra cache in the T7200 because scaling up the T5600's result would result in a PR of 4.2GHz.

Shame it doesn't recognise the Crusoe CPU. The result would have have been at the low end of the scale. It's OK for Solitaire!

    The same for me.
Anyway I think it's a quite peculiar and not so useful way of categorizing cpu performance: a Turion X2 2.0 GHz has roughly the same performance and has a much higher rating...

I know, just interested to see what results would look like for different CPUs. At least it is a way for people to understand that a high clock speed does not mean high performance as many people tend to think still.

Edit: Someone should tally up all these results (once theres more responses) and organize them in a nice sticky, so that pple can get an idea how powerful a cpu is in regards to another and stop asking the same question all the time (much like the gpu stickies).

Just go this site and click and button that says "can you run it?" It will want to install a little piece of software and then it will take a few moments and give you some results. I usually run it on IE6 and don't have any problems. I have also run it on FF as well though. Let us know if it still isn't working for you.

There is no rate cpu. Its part of the "can u run it". Once you do that, its gonna list out all ur components and how they did for that certain game. Near the top is the cpu, and it will tell u what ur rating is.
