After 9 months of intensive use, I am noticing that the battery life is not as it was when I first purchased it.

I was getting about 6:30 - 7:00 without WIFI and lowest brightness. With WIFI and regular brightness, I was getting about 4:30.

Now, I get about 2:30 to 3:00 of time.

I am considering getting a new battery just to extend the 'wireless' time.

Yeah that's normal for Lithium Ion batteries. They lose their capacity over time.
I'm not sure how much battery time I have on my laptop since I never really use the battery all that much. But according to Notebook Hardware Control my battery wear is at 6%.

I've had the notebook since october of last year.

I have had my notebook for about 2-3 months and it has a 6 cell battery. I started out getting around 3.5hours with minimum brightness in battery mode and now I have lost about 15 minutes off of that time. I use my battery quite often so I am quite impressed that I have only lost a minuscule amount of battery life.

You can read the Notebook Battery Guide if you haven't yet and would like to know more on batteries.

Yes... that is normal... unfortunately. The sales guys at Lenovo that I bought by notebook from told me you know your notebook is out of date when the battery life is half of what it was originally. Pretty much he wants to sell me another notebook in two years. ;)

I bought my laptop (sig) with the standard battery in...August of last year. Since I'm a college student and my notebook is always on at my desk, I keep my battery at a 35-40% charge on my shelf to prolong its useful lifespan when I need it. I might even move it to my fridge, next to my AS5 and Ceramique.

I think I get a little over two hours doing common tasks.

I lost about 30 minutes on my 12-cell on my old dv4000 after about a year of use. Still lasted about a good 6 hours or so.

3 hours and holding after 3 months. I'm usually plugged in, but I decided to run the calibration utility in BIOS anyway. Until then, my battery was holding 100% of its charge according to NHC. Afterwards, it's got 3% wear on it.
