    Hey, sup guys

    When it comes to hardware, I know thing...I just want to list the stuff I'll do on my laptop and if you could let me know if an i5 or i7 will suit me.

    Google Chrome sometimes w/ 30 tabs
    Visual Studios C++, C# XNA
    Java
    Flash Actionscript (Flash Games & Adobe AIR)
    Ruby
    I'll add linux just for android coding

    Photoshop A lot of layers
    -Layouts
    -Drawing w/ Tablet

    Cinema 4d, 3d Program, I am not that good at it, so my renders are basic...I'll mainly use it for texture on the go, and I will render on my desktop.

    As for Games the only ones I'll play are Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike Source, and Assassin's Creed 2
    So whats for me i5, i7, or duo?

    I would go i7. But it depends on the price and the rest of the specs of the notebook.

    Thin and light means the cooling wont be that great, so you should get the i5 (it should be powerful enough and will also be cool.

    I vote i5 540m with about 4-6GB of RAM. Those tasks aren't anything a C2D can't handle very smoothly... it's the RAM you need a lot of.

    My thoughts exactly. Chrome with 30 tabs will certainly use a lot of RAM :rolleyes:

    If you like what the Envy offers, the Core i5 version with 4-6GB of RAM (easily attainable on the Envy 15, which has 4 RAM slots) would perform very well for your tasks.

    looks like if u need a thin and light laptop , envy15 is ur best choice... also for CPU , ur better off with core i7 IMO... i'm quite sure envy can handle the cooling...and u can get 4-8GB RAM like very cheap.... the GPU is also great so u can game... i can't think of any other laptop that could fit ur options.
