    What kind of slot is this? It's from an Acer Aspire 5100.
    Also, the CPU is very easy to get to... anyone know if it's upgradeable? Currently using an AMD Turion64 x2 and I'd like to update it.

    it looks like a mini-pci-e slot.

    used for modems and Wi-Fi cards among other things.
