    What kind of ssd am i looking for?

    Ive recently bought a used Asus UX31L, but without a ssd. Can you tell me which model im looking for?

    Read about the M.2 format here. I'm sure that the Asus would use an SATA interface and not the faster PCI where the controller heating issues noted above can occur.

    Check the distance between the screw and the socket. If it is about 80mm then you need an M.2 2280 SATA SSD (if it is about 60mm then its an M.2 2260). Search your local sources using that information. Three brands are noted above but I would also note that the Crucial SSDs can need effort to control high idle power consumption while people who have bought the Transcend M.2 SSDs have been very happy with their purchases.
