Can anyone give me a list of new technologies/features/upgrades relevant to laptops that have been announced for the next 3-4 years, and when they are expected?

I realize my question might be a little vague; I'll try to clarify exactly what I'm looking for by using examples I've found online.

    1. A new WiFi standard is going to be published in December 2009 (As far as I know, laptops already have "n" cards ready to use it when it becomes commonplace; in hindsight, maybe this isn't a great example)

    2. USB 3.0 is supposed to be released in 2009/2010

If it isn't obvious yet, I'm just an average computer user, and I would appreciate brief descriptions of new technologies, since I probably won't know what most of them are just by name. Thank you in advance.

OLED screens are another. This should provide more vibrant colors, darker blacks, better viewing angles, and much lower power consumption.
