Greetings,
I am just curious what parts can i change in a laptop?
I am getting MSI GX700 extreme edition and i am curious if i can replace the bits of it. (Already paid for it)
I mean
-Processor from t7500 to t9300
-Video card from 8600mgt 512mb gddr2 to 8800mgts
-Ram from 2gb to 4gb
-Whinchester from 160gb 5400RPM to 250 gb 7200RPM
Thanks in advance,
Rage

You can change all of that except for the graphics card.

Actually you can't upgrade the ram either because according to MSI's website the max supported is 2gb.
I wouldn't be so sure you can upgrade the cpu either but I'm not positive either way.
Hard drive you can for sure upgrade. -
Notebooks nowadays can almost all take up to 4gbs of ram, so I would be really really surprised it such a powerful laptop was limited to only 2gbs of ram. Maybe you misread it and it said 2gb of ram max per slot.
And also, about the cpu, it can be upgraded. It's not as easy as the ram or hard drive, but many people have changed their cpus, and I don't see why this one specific laptop is any different. -
Thanks for the replies guys
Im a bit angry that i have bought this laptop because 8600gt seems a bit weak for me after having a 8800gtx in my desktop..
Anyways thanks

Where is this 250 GB, 7200 RPM hard drive you speak of? As far as I knew (and as far as Newegg says today), 200 GB is the current maximum for 7200 RPM notebook HDDs.
What parts can i change?
