I am buying an Hp laptop for college. My major is information technology web development. I am not a gamer. I usually just use my pc for music, photos, photo editing, Photoshop, and Microsoft office. What processor should I get. Is the i5 good enough or is the i7 worth the extra money?
    This one?
    2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M Processor (2.4 GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) Turbo Boost to 3.0 GHz

    or for an extra $20
2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450M Processor (2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz)

or this one. The laptop with this processor would cost $200 more. is it worth the extra money?
    3rd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM Processor (2.3 GHz, 6MB L3 Cache)

If you had to ask, then no, but none of what you're doing would require the i7 except maybe Photoshop, but then only if youre doing larger resolution pictures.

The i5 upgrade isn't worth the $20 for a 100 MHz increase, but if you like bigger numbers then why not.

You could wait another month or so until all the i5s are 3rd gen. If you are paying money, why pay for chips that they are trying to get rid of? Get the new tech. Prices should not be different.
