Not sure if this is the right section but what program can I run on my laptop for a certain amount of time and make sure it's not overheating? I've seen it mentioned before but I can't seem to find it.

Prime 95 would be the first candidate that comes to mind http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/

for the CPU:
- WPrime / Prime 95
- Orthos
- LinPack - Intel's own software for test purposes (i.e. might not work with AMD CPUs but beats all for Intel CPU stress purposes)
for the GPU:
- Video Card Stability Test - small program for somewhat decent video stress -
SlickDude80 Notebook Prophet
I too use Prime95 for CPU. You can monitor your temps via something like HWINFO64
For GPu, I like Furmark:
(Updated) FurMark 1.9.1 and FurMark 1.8.5 Released (GPU Stress Test) - 3D Tech News and Pixel Hacking - Geeks3D.com
What program?
