Well i currently have 2gig (1x2gig) PC5300 667 DDR2 SODIMM 200 pin ram with me currently and was wondering if the new core2duo would accept this type of ram. The reason i have this ram is because i bought it for my macbook pro, but returned it. Should i return this ram or just save it and use it for the new core2duo? Thanks in advance.

Core2Duo uses the same RAM as Core Duo (same platform). So you can use the ones that you already have

The first Core2Duo's will run @ 667 because they are pin compatible with the current chipset. However, Santa Rose which is supposedly the next "big" thing will I believe have an 800 MHz FSB.

Santa Rosa will support up to 1066mhz. However, sticks at 800 or 1066 are OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive right now. I've priced them for my Core2 desktop I'll be putting together. I'll have to wait to pick up memory.
