I heard a short while ago about Intel touting and getting all excited about something like ViiV, what on Earth is it? I'm hearing that it makes for a better media center pc experience and that its not a big deal and doesn't really add anything.
Can some of you experts tell me what its all about?

It's another marketing gimmick like the Centrino. It is a 64-bit dual core processor, Intel chipset, and Media Center operating system. Not to mention, I think the sticker is ugly.

It's Intel's Media Center thing for desktops - weird name if you ask me.

AMD is soon coming out with something to match:

And it sounds like five.

Yeah, I keep wanting to pronounce it like "give".

I find that it confuses people more - there's already a whole legion of processors out there on the market, and here's Intel confusing people with their new marketing thing. Quite annoying if you ask me.

What was the thing that was supposed to be 4 gigs of NAND memory that would store and boot the OS.
What the heck is Intel's ViiV?
