    533mhz ddr2 = pc2-4200

    will i be able to put in 2 gb of 667 mhz ddr2? if so, would it still be pc2-4200

    PC2-5300 is 667mhz Just make sure you get the notebook version and not the desktop. You can put 2 gigs of 667nhz in you computer but you will have to ditch your strip of 533mhz. assuming you have one strip and not 2x512. If you do have a single 533mhz already, i would just get a second strip of that. You will not see much if any speed gain with 667 over 533 as the 667 has lower latency. There are several other threads here on that very subject, read them and it will give you a little better info.

    i beleive i have 2x 512's..so i'll check prices between 667 and 533

    I would get the 667 MHz, it won't be too much more expensive, and you will get the RAM to FSB ratio 1:1.

    does the 1:1 ram-fsb ratio make a difference? does it boost performance even more? or just nice to be able to say its like that lol.
