Hi I have owned a Toshiba P100 for nearly 2 years and its never given me a problem until now...
The problem i am having is that it keeps randomly freezing. The way it happens is that when i am working on it, the mouse pointer stops responding and the computer becomes completely inactive. I have to hold down the power button to switch it off. I remastered it and reinstalled all the drivers and it still does it every few minutes.. The laptop works just as fast ever and works perfect UNTIL it freezes!?
Does anyone know what could cause this??

Spyware, viruses, anything really. Does it happen often or was that the only time?

It is most likely a bad driver for something.
When you mean "remastered" do you mean that you formatted the drive and reinstalled the operating system.
If you are getting problems after the reinstallation, than it may be a hardware problem.
When your system is running, you can run a few quick diagnostics.
Download hdtune, and run the program.
Go to the health tab and read your S.M.A.R.T. readings. If the system says that it failed, you may need to get a new harddrive.
You can also run a quick scan of the disc, with hdtune, and see if the hard drive has any corrupt sectors.
My old 40Gb hitachi drive is around 7 years old, and it has a few corrupt sectors, which causes the system to freeze.
I would run harddrive diagnostics.
If hdtune says that it is healthy, than it is most likely just a software problem.

Yeah heres the problem.. I put in a brand new 160Gb Hard Drive.. Put in XP Pro fresh and all new drivers and updated the BIOS... Im really annoyed by this as i assumed it was a software issue. The 100gb Hard Drive I took out of it was fine as im using it in my older HP laptop...
What would cause a laptop to freeze in this way??
