    I have Toshiba L305 glossy 15.4
    and I got HP DV4 14.1
Both are WXGA and claim it's bright.

One thing I noticed tho is that the DV4, I can see it clearly at an angle. with the L305, it was shadowy from angle(side).

I tried to look up the spec and compare, not much deeep information.

    So what are the differences?

One could be glossy and the matte.

No, both are bright. I know matte, they are dim.
it's at an angle that's differ.

Different manufacturers use different spec screens, just because they're both glossy is about the only thing similar to them. Some just have horrible attributes, the nature of the business.

If you want to know brand just go into device manager, under monitor properties, details tab, hardware ID it well tell you ID. Google ID and find out.

You could have 5 different cakes in front of you that look similar but taste very different, much like you can have 5 displays of the same size yet display different qualities of image.

Most likely just different panels. The difference is probably in the lack of information that you don't have access to (aka the panel number itself).
