    Hi there,

I'm trying to find the specific RAM of my asus f3tc. I've got as far as:
    DIMM0 512 MB DIMM 333MHZ

but not sure the pin number and the PC number (sorry I'm not very technical!)

Any ideas how I find out, all gratefully recieved.

    Thanks

You have either Pc2700 sodimm memory, which operates at 333Mhz, or Pc5300 which runs at 667Mhz. This memory has 200pins. If you run cpu-z, under the memory tab you will see all of the memory information.

If the memory is ddr memory you can always pick up a 1Gb pc3200 400mhz memory stick, as it will downclock to the pc2700 333mhz speed.

If it is ddr2 memory than you have to go with the Pc5300 667mhz memory, which runs double data rate, so 333 x 2.

Just make sure you order memory which has a lifetime warranty and sodimm memory. You dont want to get stuck with desktop memory.

Its either DDR(PC-2700) or DDR2(PC-5400/5300) memory as K-tron mention. DDR2 Memory will not fill in a slot designed from DDR memory so make sure before buying.

Also take a look at the Hot ram deals thread for great prices on memory.

    Happy Holidays.

I kind of thought the asus he had was fairly new, but I wasnt sure.
Just to clarify, the pc2700 is older ddr memory, which will not work with your system
    and
the pc 5300 @667mhz is newer ddr2 memory which will fit and work with your notebook.

And the 5300 indicates it is 677Mhz and all 5300 is DDR2 so the important things you want to look for 5300 and SODIMM as you don't want desktop RAM. All SODIMM 5300 should be 200Pin so that's it.
